A large ensemble of water molecules, all of them having the same configuration, would form an orderly structure, characterized by low density.

They would occupy, altogether, a larger volume with respect to less orderly, more dense groups of water molecules.

This could be eventually compatible with the outcome of the analysis on the density of the water, as reported by Martin Chaplin, of the London South Bank University, in Water Structure and Science.
